The_invention_discloses_a_process_for_production_of_linear_alkylbenzenes_which_comprises_contacting_a_mixture_of_benzene_linear_olefins_and_hydroen_with_a_catalyst_containing_a_transition_metal_like_iron__cobalt__nickel__platinum__palladium__iridium_or_mixtures_thereof_in_intimate_contact_with_a_zeolite_such_as_mordenite__beta_X__Y_or_ZSM_12_and_separating_the_linear_alkylbenzenes_from_the_reactor_effluents._The_present_invention_introduces_the_manufacture_of_LAB_using_solid_catalyst_under_condition_wherein_the_catalyst_is_not_deactivated_and_hence_leading_to_normal_operation_cycle_lengths_between_successive_regeneration_which_are_substantially_longer_than_those_in_prior_art. |
