| Abstract |
An improved process for preparation of red iron oxide pigment from the iron sludge which comprises treating the iron oxide sludge with mineral acid under agitated conditions for a period of 30 to 180 minutes washing the sludge with water to obtain a semi dried product firing the said semi dried product in presence of a catalyst firstly at a temperature ranging between 300 400°C for 1 5 hrs cooling and grinding the said crude product to obtain fine powder firing the said fine powder at a temperature ranging between 800 900°C for a period of 1 6 hrs under the oxidizing conditions to obtain the product |
