| Abstract |
An improved process for the preparation of iron molybdate .
Catalyst which comprises contacting aqueous solution of a ferric
salt such as ferric chloride or ferric raitrate and aiMoniun
paramolybdate by simultaneous addition to a conventional buff ec
solution of pH between 1 and 2 at a temperature in the range
of 30 C 100 c feo form a precipitate under constant agitation
wherein the molar ratio of molybdenum to the iron is kept grea
ter than 2 1. ageing the resultant precipitate separating
and washing the said precipitate with deionlsed water till
s dium chloride and nitrate are substantially removed from the
washing solution then drying and calcining the catalyst at
a temperature in the range of 300 450 c by gradual heating |
