Abstract |
A crystalline encilite catalyst composite for use in the conversion of alkanols to olefins has the composition on an oxide molar ratio basis 1.0 ñ 0.3 M2O Fe2O3 30 300 SiO2 ZH2O where M is a monovalent cation and Z is an integer from 0 to 20 The catalyst composite is prepared by reacting in an aqueous medium iron silicon an alkali metal and if desired sulphuric acid with a tetraalkyl ammonium salt heating the gel obtained removing the supernatant liquid formed by such heating recovering the solid residue and washing drying and calcining the latter. |
